Distance Family

In 2004 we made the decision to introduce some more stock birds to produce longer distance winners. After trying numerous long distance families over the years which had not come up to scratch we opted to purchase children of national or international winners and inbred distance stock to blend our own family. We purchased 5 pairs of direct Dr Vandersanden Bifs and Taveriene-Rigole birds for this job which had been imported by Les Parkinson. Below are a selection of distance bred birds we have at stock. The Future is looking great for our distance family. On our very first attempt at Tarbes 737 miles we sent 2 x 2 year old cocks both returned home with Parky finishing 363rd Open NFC Tarbes 2007 this was after he had been 9th Section L and 18th Open NFC Cholet 2007 6,798 birds.

Jonge Narbonne 44

BG035233744JONGENARBONNE44

Jonge Narbonne 44 was bred by Dr Vandersanden at the BIFS (Birds Insemination and Fertilisation Station) in Belgium. His DNA profile has been certified with regards his parentage, so he is 100% guaranteed as being a son off De Narbonne winner of 1st National Narbonne and Mooioogje Dam of 1st National Winner. The pedigree of Jonge Narbonne 44 is top class with generations of National Winners running throughout it. It was because of his guaranteed parentage and superb distance pedigree that we purchased this cock for a large amount of money as a yearling during the summer of 2004. In his first year of breeding for us in 2005 he was paired to The Jimmy Hen and this pair produced Victors Dream winner of 1st Section L & 5th Open National Flying Club St Malo 2006, Victors Dream was beaten by 3 pigeons flying into Penzance and 1 into Barnstaple. The flying distance from Penzance to our loft is 282 miles however the overfly we got from the Fancier in Penzance was 162 miles. The four pigeons in front of us had flying times and velocities of 4hr 51min 1201.213, 4hr 48min 1197.847, 4hr 49 min 1192.819 and 4hr 50min 1189.195 whilst Victors Dream was flying 8hr 55min to record a velocity of 1170.442 he was around 9 minutes off winning 1st Open in the NFC. Victors Dream in our opinion is a top class racer and we have high expectations of Jonge Narbonne 44 producing more top class racers for us in the future.
